Inhibitors of the renin-angiotensin system. 
Renin output may be reduced by b-blockade (using agents such as propranolol), or the activity of renin may be impaired by the presence of renin antibodies. ACE, present in the lungs and blood vessels, can be inhibited by captopril, teprotide, and enalapril. In addition, the drug saralasin is a competitive inhibitor of angiotensin II at its receptor site.
